Herb Kai brings a level of experience that cannot be taught overnight. Born and raised in Marana, with family roots reaching back more than a century, Herb understands this town from the ground up. He has worked the land, built businesses, managed resources, protected water rights, and served Marana as its Vice Mayor and Councilman.

His experience is proven. As an old time farmer of Marana, he understands how long term decisions shape and form the town to what it is today. Being a seasoned leader gives Herb the steady judgement needed to protect this community’s future.

Teri Murphy represents the heart of Marana. She is a community servant, a family advocate, and a leader who has spent years investing in the people and traditions that make this town special. Through her work with local rodeo programs, youth events, healthcare support, and family-centered service, Teri has proven that she does not just talk about community — she builds it.

Her priorities are clear: safe neighborhoods, strong infrastructure, economic stability, and preserving the western heritage that gives Marana its character. Teri brings compassion and steady leadership to the council. She is exactly the kind of person Marana needs as our town continues to grow.

John Officer

John Officer brings the strength of experience to Marana Town Council. For more than three decades he has lived, worked, volunteered, and led in this community. He understands Marana because he has helped shape it through years of service in planning, parks, water, business, youth programs, local history, and community support.

John is not learning Marana’s issues for the first time. He knows them, he has worked on them, and he has proven he can lead through them. At a time when Marana is growing fast, experience matters. John Officer brings knowledge factualized in real-world knowledge, including a long record of service to the people of Marana.
